Motivace ve výuce dětí ze sociálně vyloučených lokalit a jejich pedagogů: případová studie na ZŠ v Přerově
Bortlová, Natálie
The subject of my bachelor's thesis is motivation in teaching children and educators from socially excluded localities. The aim of this work is to identify the main motivating factors acting in the primary education system, with an emphasis on pedagogical work with children from socially excluded localities. The work is composed of two parts, a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, using professional sources, I have defined the motivation and the concepts associated with it, which also include sources of motivation, demotivation, theory of motivation, and the motivation of the pupil in the pedagogical process is further specified here. In the following theoretical part, I define education in the Czech Republic. And the last part is focused on social exclusion. In the empirical part, qualitative research into motivation in teaching children and educators is processed. Finally, based on research, I have developed appropriate recommendations on how to increase or maintain the motivation of existing pupils and educators
Locus of control in socially excluded Roma
JESTŘÁB, Jakub
The aim of the diploma thesis was: "to describe the Locus of control of socially excluded Romani people", while the main research question was: "What is the specifics of Locus of control in socially excluded Romani people?" The following hypotheses were established: "The degree of social exclusion affects the Locus of control in socially excluded Romani people.", "There are differences between gender and Locus of control in socially excluded Romani." and "There are differences in Locus of control in socially excluded Romani people employed and unemployed. " To achieve the goal, a strategy of quantitative research was chosen, which was carried out using the method of questioning through standardized questionnaires Locus of control IPC scale Hanna Levenson and the questionnaire Scale of social exclusion. The research group consisted of 537 respondents from the ORP České Budějovice and Cheb 106. Hypothesis H1 was tested using the so-called correlation analysis. Hypotheses H2 and H3 were tested using the so-called T-test for two independent groups (unpaired, two-sample T-test). In the first hypothesis (H1) based on the findings, it can be stated that one of the three parties available to Locus of Control has been confirmed, as there is a statistically significant relationship between internal and random (r = 0.118; p = 0.006); external and random (r = 0.184; p = 0.000) and external and exclusive (r = -0.090; p = 0.037). In the second hypothesis (H2) it has been found that the relationship does not exist, i.e. nothing significant was found (internal - t = 1,642 and sig = 0,101; external - t = -, 270 and sig = 0,788; random - t = 1,186 and sig = 0.236). In the third hypothesis (H3) it has been found that the relationship does not exist, i.e. nothing significant was found (internal - t = 1,642 and sig = 0,101; external - t = -, 270 and sig = 0,788; random - t = 1,186 and sig = 0.236). The findings of the diploma thesis can be used in the integration of acquired knowledge into community work in socially excluded localities.
Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion
Hurrle, Jakob ; Sýkora, Luděk (advisor) ; Bernard, Josef (referee) ; Sidiropulu Janků, Kateřina (referee)
The dissertation project Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion deals with the situation of Roma in Czech rural municipalities. The starting motivation for the author's exploration of this topic has been information about the growing number of segregated localities in rural areas. In the local public discourses within the peripheral areas, this phenomenon has often been explained as the consequence of poverty-driven urban-rural migration. However, as the migration of socially excluded populations into disadvantaged areas stirs a lot of fears and negative emotions that provide a fertile ground for the spread of rumours, the author's preparatory research soon revealed that it is necessary to carefully distinguish between myths and reality. The author's desire to understand the complex processes behind the emergence of new Roma localities in rural areas required a combination of working methods: The author analysed the national policy and regulatory framework and realized empirical research in five micro-regions in different parts of the Czech Republic. In addition to this, data were gained through the realization of a country-wide survey with two different sets of questionnaires, which targeted rural municipalities with socially excluded localities and urban social...
Education of Roma Children and the Culture of Poverty
Siváková, Aneta ; Lánský, Ondřej (advisor) ; Samek, Tomáš (referee)
The main goal of this diploma thesis is based on conceptual analysis and empirical research to assess the suitability of the concept of poverty culture (Oscar Lewis) for analyzing the situation of socially excluded people - specifically Roma - in the Czech Republic with emphasis on education. In the first part of the work I will focus on the analysis of key terms and concepts related to racism, ethnicity and especially the culture of poverty. The second part is devoted to the issue of Roma education in the Czech Republic. I will use the knowledge from these parts as a basis for the operationalization of the given conceptual field into a form usable for empirical research. The last part introduces the implementation of a qualitative research probe between teachers and teaching assistants in a selected socially excluded locality, which focuses mainly on their work motivation and approach to socially excluded localities, etc. My research shows that the concept of Oscar Lewis can be applied in a school environment.
OPINIONS OF PUPILS FROM SOCIALLY RISK ENVIRONMENT REGARDING DRUG ADDICTION
Čtvrtečková, Kateřina ; Bajcura, Lubomír (advisor) ; Šiška, Jan (referee) ; Balvín, Jaroslav (referee)
Children and young people rank among the most endangered social groups. Not only do they go through an important stage of personality formation which could be influenced by many factors, but this phase of personal development influences, to a certain extent, their future lives and the possibility of a fully-fledged social integration. At this stage, children and young people develop stronger perceptual sensitivity of either positive or negative outer factors. These factors can have a stronger impact on children and young people living in an environment which the majority society perceives not as standard, but as a socially excluded, and hence unwanted, locality. The group of children and young people, especially the ones from socially excluded localities, are very often affected by the use of addictive substances. There is a big risk, that members of the group will become regular users of addicted substances which generate further negative effects. The dissertation is focused on the use of addictive substances by children living in socially excluded localities. The aim of the thesis is not only to explain terms like a socially excluded locality, or addictive substance, but also to point out to an extent and kind of perception and knowledge of addictive substances on the part of the monitored group...
Primary school teacher in an excluded location
Solovovová, Petra ; Krčmářová, Tereza (advisor) ; Horská, Petra (referee)
The work of teacher in excluded localities with Romany pupils is demanding, it requires a high degree of resilience, adaptability, perseverance and resilience. Children growing up in an environment of social exclusion have acquired values, habits and behavior patterns that make it more difficult for them to integrate into the school environment. A teacher from an excluded location should understand the acting and behavior of Romany pupils and help these pupils to successfully master the educational process. The aim of my work is to find out the specifics of the teacher's work in the excluded locality. The qualitatively oriented research is focused on the problems, that teachers face from Roman pupils in their education in excluded localities, their opinions on the education of Romany pupils and on their motivation to educate these pupils in an excluded location. Data are obtained using semi-structured interviews with teachers from excluded localities. The conclusion of my work is a discussion of the research results, where the information from the professional literature is compared with my personal experience and the respondents' testimonies.
